  The UW DEPARTMENT OF EPIDEMIOLOGY has an outstanding opportunity for a BIOSTATISTICIAN.   NACC facilitates collaborative research among 29 Alzheimer&apos;s Disease Centers (ADCs) funded by the National Institute on Aging, and is beginning its third 5-yr funding cycle with a budget of approximately $15M.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;NACC maintains a database of clinical and neuropathological data collected from the ADCs, and also funds and oversees investigator -initiated collaborative research projects among ADC investigators; these projects define and collect data specific for their research needs. In addition, NACC provides data management and statistical consulting/analysis for investigator-initiated collaborative R01s which are independently funded by the NIA. This position is integral to the success of NACC, and it is vital that the person occupying this position possesses the ability to work with investigators and other personnel from diverse backgrounds (i.e.,neurology,neuropathology, psychiatry, genetics, computer analysts, administrators) and multiple institutions. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;This will be a very visible position, reflecting the outstanding quality of research at the University of Washington.    The purpose of this position is to work within the National Alzheimer&apos;s Coordinating Center (NACC) assisting various groups and personnel with scientific research, applied and theoretical statistical analysis, data quality, and report design. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;This position will work on a variety of research and data management projects. The position also will conduct independent research using the NACC database. &lt;P&gt;The Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research &amp;amp; Prevention (SCHARP) is part of the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Institute (VIDI) at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. SCHARP provides statistical collaboration to HIV/AIDS researchers around the world and conducts a complementary program of statistical methodology and mathematical modeling research. SCHARP also collects, manages, and analyzes data from clinical trials and epidemiological studies dedicated to the elimination of HIV/AIDS as a threat to human health. JOB SUMMARY The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for the management and coordination of the scientific and operational activities of the Systems Biology of Vaccine and Infectious Disease (SBVID) program under the UW/China Health Initiative. In conjunction with both internal VIDI and external program Principal Investigators (PIs), the incumbent will participate in the further development of the program. The SPM will function as collaborator and colleague with other partners in the Initiative and will be responsible for facilitating overall project management, scientific needs, and administrative tasks required by the program. The SPM manages complex activities in support of program operations. The employee occupying this position works independently in managing the program, soliciting direction or assistance from the PIs as required. &lt;P&gt;MAJOR DUTIES &lt;/p&gt;
